Footprints in the Sand
A Dream of Divine Presence
I dreamed I walked along eternity’s shore with the Lord as scenes from my life flashed above us. In the sand, I saw footprints—sometimes two sets, sometimes one. During my darkest valleys of pain and sorrow, I noticed only single tracks marking the sand.
The Question That Ached
Trembling, I asked: “Lord, You promised to walk with me always. Why did You abandon me when I needed You most?” The wind stilled as I pointed to those lonely stretches with just one set of footprints.
The Revelation That Healed
He drew me close and whispered: “My precious child, when you see only one set of footprints—those were the times I carried you.”
“He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge.”
— Psalm 91:4
The Truth That Transforms
What we mistake as God’s absence is often His closest embrace. When you couldn’t walk, He didn’t walk beside you—He lifted you. Those single footprints? Not evidence of abandonment, but the sacred marks of a Father who:
- Bears our burdens when our knees buckle
- Holds us close when the night is darkest
- Leaves no child behind in life’s storms
An Eternal Promise
Now when I revisit life’s hardest stretches in memory, I no longer see absence in those single tracks—I see the imprint of salvation, the divine signature of love that never lets go.
